Entrepreneurial babusyas

On the road between Kyiv and Chernihiv, you’ll find babusyas, Ukrainian for grandmas, selling their wares. They’re sitting on the side of the high way, rain or shine, small figures huddled in warm clothes with a toothy smiles for whoever stops at their stall. They sell whatever they were able to pick from the forest or their gardens – home-made jams, mushroom, and even bundles of leafy branches that are used to waft warm air around in banyas, Ukrainian steam rooms.
